Davis, California, 3 April 2003 – Freedom Motors announced today that it is accepting orders for its Rotapower® 650 Series rotary engines. The single and twin rotor configurations (650 and 1300cc displacements, respectively) will provide industrial and recreational users with an engine that has very low emissions, generates high power for its weight and size, and is both multi-fuel capable and free from vibration.

The Rotapower® 650 engine is the single rotor Wankel type rotary engine weighing 80 lbs and producing 75 HP @ 7500 RPM on low octane gasoline. The Rotapower® 1300 engine is the twin rotor model producing 150 HP and weighing 125 lbs.

Freedom Motors recently announced that Minnesota-based RotaMax, Inc. has agreed to participate with Freedom Motors in the production of the Rotapower® 650 Series engines for snowmobile use. RotaMax, Inc. has been working with Freedom Motors for the past year to help develop cost-effective manufacturing techniques.

Both Rotapower® engine models are liquid-cooled and available carbureted or fuel injected. They have demonstrated the ability to operate efficiently using different fuels including diesel, jet fuel, gasoline, alcohol and propane. Perhaps the most important attribute of the Rotapower engine is its freedom from vibration due to pure rotating motion. When used in recreational products this characteristic provides a remarkably pleasant experience for the user. Dr. Paul Moller, President of Freedom Motors says, “The Rotapower® engine is a beautiful piece of engineering, with only 2 moving parts (for the single rotor version) versus the 34 moving parts in a comparable 4-stroke piston engine.”

Beta versions of the Rotapower® 650 and 1300 will be available this summer and priced at $5,000 and $7,000, respectively. Volume pricing reductions will be announced as production levels increase later this year.

Incorporated in 1997, Freedom Motors is the exclusive license holder for manufacturing and distribution of the Rotapower® engine for all applications except ducted fans and aircraft.
